I understand and accept that developers need to feed and shelter their families too so if I have to uncheck a couple options to prevent unwanted stuff foisted on my system in order to get a "quality" program like CCleaner for FREE, then I have no problem overlooking the minor inconvenience.
Anyway - my question is this: Does CCleaner Pro attempt to foist any extra add-ons on to our systems? Or is that one more area where the Free and Pro versions differ?

Just another example of why you should take note of what is happening when you install any software not just CCleaner. Besides CCleaner Pro giving the handy Auto Updater - not having to go to the site to download and install the latest versions - to me what makes the big difference is that the Pro version now cleans automatically after you close your browser.
If you choose the option it do that. I used to have Window Washer from Webroot which also could be set to automatically clean the browser after closing:. But with Windows 7 it did not work anymore - they discontinued support for it - and now it's bundled with Webroot's Security software:.

However, I completely agree that Piriform does NOT make the differences between the Free and Pro versions very clear - obscuring this information makes them look shady, when in reality this is a very reputable company with an excellent product.

Tuneup es un veneno, cuando recien lo usas parece que tenes una pc nueva, pero al otro dia la tenes peor que antes. Si almacenan todo eso, pero no pierden rendimiento como lo hace windows de forma tan desproporcionada.
Microsoft nunca ha recomendado tocar el registro, y el limpiador que trae Microsoft no limpia el registro. Eliminar claves semihuerfanas que son dependencias de otro software acaba siendo peor que dejando todo en su sitio.
Hay que eliminar con sumo cuidado que se elimina y que no usando software del tipo Ccleaner…. Y como elimine dependencias semihuerfanas del regedit, veras el riquin pollo que se monta jajaaja.
Luego quieres renderizar un video en un software y pum! Se piensan que en el mundo de Linux no se encontraran con los mismos problemas, y cuando reciban dosis de realidad, aprenderan que es eso de libreria, librerias compartidas y dependencias, y que tanto Windows y Linux pueden tener problemas por todos lados.
No es por nada pero linux no pierde el rendimiento en picada como en windows por estas cosas, y estos programas automaticos el problema es el usuario. Microsoft no hace la herramienta porque no recomienda tocar el registro. No pueden hacer una herramienta de algo que no recomiendan.

I would strongly recommend they fix that. They mention that "complete cleaning" is one of the benefits of the PRO version which is NOT available in the free version. My understanding is that the free version and pro version have the following differences: Free version now has real time monitoring, has always since feature was implemented cleaning scheduled tasks.

A mi me gusta mas el regedit, todo metido y embutido en un mismo sitio, por ser mas practico. Si, pero un equipo tiene que ser muy ancestro para que eso sea un problema. Y ya ni hablemos de los SSD….
A ver, tambien es cierto que contra mas lleno esta un disco duro, mas tarda en localizar el cabezal el archivo que busca. Ojo, aclaro que la cache de vez en cuando limpiarla esta bien, que sino lo haces en mucho tiempo, se puede comer perfectamente 10 GB de disco.
O, que no necesite ser tuneado porque pierde rendimiento en 3 meses. Las versiones anteriores eran buenas eh, tipo las del, eran excelentes para Windows XP, la cagaron cuando sacaron las versiones para Windows 8 en adelante….
Jhoseph debes revisar la diferencia entre Windows y Linux al respecto. Tal vez en versiones posteriores. Comprobado tengo que el registro no se debe tocar con algoritmos generalizados, lo mejor es hacerlo a mano, o no hacerlo.
Me puse a desinstalar con el panel de control y elimine un moton dejando lo indispensable. Sorpresa, mi windows10 no mejoro y ya lo iba a restablecer. Sin embargo me acorde de CCleaner y me sorprendieron las grandes mejoras, lo corri tres veces para Limpiar el registro y Hurra!
Ahora creo ciegamente en CCleaner y me ha sacado de otros apuros como errores de registro etc.. Unicamente hay que cuidarse de la eliminacion excesiva de cookies Pues algunas son necesarias pero en realidad el programa es muy configurable.

Cuando menos se toque el sistema operativo mejor, los ingenieros de Microsoft saben perfectamente lo que hacen. Con el antivirus que trae por defecto Windows 10 es mas que suficiente, no se necesita otro y el sistema operativo queda mucho mas liviano.
