I change the filename of any file that has an abbreviated name such as 'ccsetup' - so that I can keep tabs on what is installed so I no need to enter the Control Panel to check the version installed,.
I keep track of installed versions via the Menu shortcuts - I use Classic Menu in preference to Windows 10 menu structure. I'm sure you do, but just in case, even with the downloaded file let's stick to CC in this example named as ccsetup I too use a 3rd party Start program, StartIsBack, and keep all my downloaded goodies in a personal folder for quick access but I don't rename them - well, apart from tacking on the version number at the end, but ccsetup already does it for us.
And we all affectionately abbreviate CCleaner to CC on this forum so ccsetup is already good-to-go. It sounds petty if MS has hard coded the word 'ccleaner' into the OS as something to watch out for.

Uninstall Ccleaner and then reinstall it. Does it work then? Won't work until you download the latest version How do I get the link to pro? I think CCleaner is a great product. Been using it for years.

Dave, are you referring to this item under the 'Settings' header? Is that what you meant? But, now you bring it to my attention, my opinion is that it is for Windows, not Ccleaner. In the CCleaner Pro version: I think that Piriform are just providing a useful link and detailed information on their product Ccleaner version history from v2.

About a month back I was running Ccleaner and noticed at the bottom right hand corner of the program there was an orange link button that said "An Update is available Update Now" I reluctantly clicked on the link and it took me to what seemed an unusual download site.
I closed the link and updated through the normal Piriform site. I'm currently running the 5. Norton, Sep 18, I don't typically install it on mine or anyone else's computer.
